How I thank God for those who have caught the vision and have gotten involved in the historical work of New Life Evangelistic Center. I never envisioned, when this work began over 41 years ago, that New Life would resume the role of being the only major walk-in emergency center in the great St. Louis area. From 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., individuals who find themselves homeless now have an emergency room for sleeping they can turn to.

Hospitals, police departments, social workers and other agencies, in increasing numbers are referring the homeless and hurting to New Life for help. With up to three hundred individuals a night, we find ourselves in an advocacy role for individuals to have a place to sleep.

Sleep is a necessary human function that each and every person has a right to experience. Yet at this time, local governments and even churches are refusing to let people sleep in their facilities. Not only are we engaged in reminding those in power of their need for compassion in this area, we are also trying to provide an example of such Biblical compassion by increasing our services to those in need.

In order to accomplish this extensive goal, caring people like you who support the work of New Life Evangelistic Center are more important than ever before. Please continue to pray for and share your much needed gifts.

Not only does NLEC provide people with a place to sleep, but it also has a wide range of training programs to help those in need break the cycle of homelessness. Currently, over 100 previously homeless people are involved in these programs, which include short-term transitional housing and a variety of long-term training programs. These programs range from on-the-job training in radio and television, renewable energy, building maintenance and construction, telemarketing, computer services, culinary arts, and more.

Because of those of you who are caring and sharing directly with New Life Evangelistic Center, we have so many testimonies of lives changed through the love of God working through His people. In the event you have not yet become a Club 24 member by sharing your gift of at least $24 per month, please get involved now. There are so many more that need help. With your help we can continue to be there when people are hurting.

Thank you for your prayerful support.

Yours in Christ,

Larry Rice

Ladies Feb 13 2013 037New Life has been a blessing to me in so many ways. I have found shelter, a place to sleep, food to eat, and have been able to take a shower regularly. I have been blessed to be in prayer on a daily schedule. This has been very helpful in every area of my life. To build my personal relationship with a risen Savior has brought hope back into my life.

Terry Johnson 002Christ’s Resurrection was already real to me; but since I’ve been here at NLEC I have had a lot more time to meditate and reflect on my Savior’s Resurrection. “He is Risen” resonates through my soul and spirit. Because He is Risen, I am risen with Him!

Ladies Feb 13 2013 061I work hard on being obedient to God. I’m not perfect but I’m trying. I enjoy helping the women and kids that come into the shelter. I try to help in any way possible. It’s through Jesus that I’m able to help them. Because He is Risen I have hope and want to share that hope with others!

February 2013 Testimony Pictures 002I have felt the love of God since coming to NLEC by feeling welcomed by the other women and the pastors while in the program. I’ve also felt the love by realizing that I am able to remain true to myself all of the time and continue to stay focused and feel accomplished.I came to know Christ by growing up in a Methodist church home as well as having a Christian upbringing by my mother who taught and showed me love from Christ, but circumstances in my life led me away from Him.

New Life has helped me to remember that believing in repentance as well as remembering to acknowledge the presence of others who are true believers in Christ brings me closer to Him.

Christ’s Resurrection brings me the strength and courage I need to be a strong and confident woman no matter what the circumstances are in my life.

Caleb Feb 2013-2Christ’s Resurrection to me is the end of hardship and sorrows, it allowed me to be brought back into the light of salvation and He’s given me the ability to reclaim my own inner spirit.

New Life Evangelistic Center has allowed me to begin a New Life. It has helped me to let go of the crisis inside my soul and put Faith in God’s love and guidance in its place. New Life Evangelistic Center has given me HOPE again.

The staff at New Life are showing me a brighter and more pure way of following my goals and how to re-enter society and take back my place and purpose that brings fulfillment to my life.

My husband became disabled and I had to stop working to care for him. After he died there was NO income so I lived with relatives for a short time – but the environment was not healthy, as a result I came to New Life Evangelistic Center. At New Life I found people who care about people. They try their best to show Christ’s love and to help me to grow closer to Him each day through Bible Study and Prayer.

Program 010I have felt the love and resurrection power of Christ at NLEC. Now I have become more patient with others.

Before I came to New Life someone threatened me and I heard God say to me, “Don’t do it. I’ve got it” when I wanted to retaliate. But I didn’t retaliate.

I know that God is working in my life and that because of Jesus Resurrection I have a New Life each day. I try to comfort those who need comfort and to share the Hope we have in Christ with them.

”Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.”
